With regular self-of-the-therapist (SOT) meetings, you’ll learn how to manage common therapeutic issues like countertransference, balancing alliances between members of a couple, and maintaining empathy and positive regard. Your SOT facilitator can also act as a mentor as you learn how to balance between caring for your clients and caring for yourself. Our phenomenal SOT facilitators, Sam, Todd, Rachel, and Trisha, are all graduates of our Fellowship program, and they understand exactly the sorts of struggles that a couples therapist who is new to the field is likely to face in sessions. They can’t wait to share their knowledge with you and watch you grow into confident, competent therapists!
Sam is one of our affair recovery experts, and he is additionally trained to treat trauma using EMDR.
Todd is our resident men’s issues specialist, and has run a variety of Men’s groups at RTC. He is also a certified Intensive Couples Counseling (ICC) therapist.
Rachel is extremely knowledgable about eating disorders and how they can affect relationships, and also works frequently with clients around religious trauma.
Trisha has specific extended training in the PIT/HOCI model to treat developmental and relational trauma, and is one of our go-to therapists for treating a full-family system because of her expertise.
