The ICC Difference

WHY CHOOSE INTENSIVE COUPLES COUNSELING?

The Intensive Couples Counseling™ Program is our most effective therapy program for guiding couples towards healing, clarity, reconnection and a deeper understanding of each other. Participants can expect to gain enhanced communication techniques, strategies for managing emotional triggers, and a more profound connection with one another. ICC was designed by a team of highly experienced couples therapists as an alternative to standard weekly one-hour therapy sessions, for couples who need to make significant progress in a short amount of time – or who just don’t want to wait to have the relationship of their dreams.

We don’t know of any other service like ICC! There are many faith-based programs where multiple couples gather in a retreat format led by a religious leader, or other programs that are private, but they are either not led by a marriage and family therapist or have a significantly higher price point.

How does it work?

ICC participants work privately with an ICC-certified therapist for the duration of the program, which is scheduled in 3-4 hour blocks of time, and is generally completed within 2-3 weeks. With many consecutive hours at each sitting, it’s easier to get to the heart of the issue and spend more time actually healing and figuring out how to move forward. Our ICC therapists specialize in working with relationships, and have completed extensive training to be ICC-certified. The ICC training draws from multiple different couples counseling and family-of-origin wound treatment methodologies, such as the Gottman Method, Pragmatic-Experiential Therapy (PET-C), Post Induction Therapy, and more. Your ICC therapist is hand selected to work with you based on your issues and needs, and each ICC program is tailored specifically for you.

How can ICC help?

Every couple is different, but we find that the relationships that benefit the most from ICC fall into one of the following “curriculums”:

  • Healing The Hurt: for couples recovering from a relationship crisis such as an affair or betrayal
  • On The Brink: for couples who are considering separation, or who can’t continue “business as usual” without a significant change
  • Seeking More Intimacy: for couples struggling to connect through emotional distance or painful conflict
  • Wanting Results Now: for couples who have tried standard couples counseling and need something more
  • Deep Recovery: for couples whose relationships have been affected by addiction

Keep in mind that most couples will fit into more than one of these categories, and your ICC therapist will be treating your unique relationship.
